Student arrested after threat mentioning Buffalo High School [Video]

BUFFALO, Minn. — School officials from two extended metro districts say a student from Chaska was taken into custody after allegedly posting an active shooter threat on social media. 

Superintendent Scott Thielman of the Buffalo Hanover Montrose Schools sent a message to parents Wednesday morning informing them of the threat that referenced Buffalo High School and several other schools outside the district. 

“The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, along with the Chaska Police Department, worked overnight to investigate an active shooter threat made on Snapchat and arrested the individual responsible, who is a student in Chaska,” the messages read. “According to the Buffalo Police Department, there is no reason to believe that anyone aside from the individual arrested is involved.”
