Gov. DeWine announces ‘innovation hub’ for polymer research, development in Greater Akron [Video]

The Greater Akron region will soon be home to a $41.65 million “innovation hub” focused on the research and development of polymer science, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and other state officials announced Thursday. 

The Greater Akron Polymer Innovation Hub is Ohio’s third “innovation hub” and will involve a centralized Polymer Pilot Plant where partner labs from more than 70 agencies will work on projects in fields such as healthcare, mobility, electronics, semiconductors, industrial materials and energy, DeWine’s office said in a press release.
