Lieutenant governor talks public education in Lynchburg [Video]

Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears spent Wednesday in Lynchburg where she discussed economic development with local business leaders and visited an elementary school later in the day to meet with students and staff.

At an event at The Virginian Hotel in downtown Lynchburg, Earle-Sears highlighted specific initiatives under the administration of Gov. Glenn Youngkin that have had a positive impact on Lynchburg.

Lynchburg, for example, received a portion of the $126 million in grants under the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program, money that is used to develop and enhance industrial sites within the city and in other parts of the state.

Lynchburg was awarded $261,750 toward site development for “Sites A & B” in the Ivy Creek Innovation Park from this program. Elsewhere in the Lynchburg area, $1.5 million was awarded to Bedford County in early August for the 500-acre New London Business and Technology Park.
