“We are excited for this partnership that will provide Kansas City boys and girls more opportunities and even better experiences through baseball and softball,” said Royals spokesperson Sharita Hutton in response to reports that the Royals Amateur Development Complex LLC are the new owners of Kansas City 3&2 Baseball at 9600 Blue River Rd., in Kansas City.

In an online statement, 3&2 shared an open letter with the community detailing the challenges of maintaining the fields amid rising utility costs. Kansas City 3&2 said the new Royals ownership allows them to focus on its mission of “expanding opportunities for young athletes in South Kansas City.”
