GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Local venues have a word of warning before you search online for concert tickets so you don’t get scammed or lose money.

“It’s truly buyer beware. Know where you’re buying from,” Terry Charles of PMI Entertainment Group said.

If you’re shopping online for tickets to concerts or events, know how to recognize ticket resellers, lookalike websites, and scams.

“This is a major problem,” Charles said.

There’s ticket trouble at every concert, every local event.

“The mistake that’s being made is because they’re Googling to buy tickets in Green Bay or wherever,” said Charles.

Terry Charles is senior manager of corporate communications for PMI Entertainment Group.

PMI owns TicketStar, the local company that handles tickets for several venues like the Resch Center and Weidner Center.

“People unknowingly are buying from these sites thinking they are buying from the venues, and they’re paying a lot more money. And all these sites are doing is, they’re buying these tickets from us and then reselling them.”
