Surveillance video shows the moment an off-duty Milwaukee police officer got into a shootout with someone on the city’s south side.Investigators do not think bullets hit anyone during the shooting early Tuesday morning near 37th Street and Branting Lane, just south of American Family Field.According to Milwaukee Police, the off-duty officer heard someone smashing a car window on his street early Tuesday morning. The off-duty officer does not want to be identified. Video shows the man with a flashlight investigating the area after police said he heard breaking glass. That’s when, according to Milwaukee police, he sees two people standing by a car. In the surveillance, the off-duty officer can be heard identifying himself by shouting “Milwaukee police.” MPD said one of the two people started shooting at the off-duty officer, so he returned fire.
