Suncrest Middle School students being moved to new location for months due to roof leak [Video]

MORGANTOWN W.Va (WDTV) – Sixth graders from the Suncrest Middle School will have a new home when the school starts due to roofing leaks being uncovered recently.

Superintendent Eddie Campbell says the district has no choice but to move the kids.

“The roof damage was significant it was unforeseen, some damage that had been taking place over an extended periodic time,” said Eddie R. Campbell, Jr., Monongalia County School Superintendent.

For the next three months, the kids will be moved to the WVU Innovation Corporation. The district has talked the plan over with parents who they have been supportive.

Officials believe the new facility can meet kids’ needs.

“We will have access to 9 classrooms, so administrative offices, restrooms, cafeteria facilities those types of things all the things you really need to conduct a school day” said Campbell.

School starts for Monongalia County students on August 20th.
