The only county that didn’t see house prices rise as county adds 31K new addresses [Video]

There were 31,384 new address points added to the GeoDirectory databased in the 12 months to the end of June, while house prices have risen in all but one county.

The figures, an increase of 17.1% year-on-year, indicate that more than 31,000 homes have been completed in the past year, which is down from the 32,695 officially built in 2023.

The highest proportion of new residential address points were located in Dublin with over a third of the overall total (10,508), followed by Cork (3,621), Meath (1,812) and Kildare (1,599). Leinster accounted for two-thirds (66.2%) of the new address points.

“We have seen a significant increase of over 17% in the number of new address points recorded over the past twelve months, which combined with the number of buildings under construction, suggests a strong performance in terms of housing delivery for 2024,” said Dara Keogh, CEO of GeoDirectory.
