City of Portland to replace outdated water meters [Video]

Residents and business owners can expect to receive notices about installing the new meters from the city of Portland. The current ones are more than a decade old.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city of Portland announced last week that all residential and commercial water meters within city limits are expected to be replaced by Spring 2025.

Current water meters installed in Portland homes and businesses were put there more than 10 years ago and have reportedly exceeded their usage life. The city says that older meters can become less accurate over time, potentially leading to underbilling.

That means that Portland residents could notice a change in their water bills due to improved accuracy of the new meter.
