New Clever Police Department chief introducing himself to the community [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Clever Police Department’s new chief is introducing himself to the community.

Chief Mike Evans became the new chief on July 16. He spent 22 years with the Springfield Police Department before retiring in 2021.

Chief Evans plans to implement three new department programs: a neighborhood watch, a business watch, and a see something, say something program.

“One of the things that I’m really passionate about is community services,” said Chief Evans. “We do community-oriented policing in law enforcement. And Clever is at that growth point. We’re at that foundational point in the city’s moment in time, and you want to feel like I can do something for a community.”

The Clever Police Department will host a meet and greet at the Christian County Library in Clever at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
