(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Burglars broke into and stole equipment from a River North studio last weekend.

Frankie Fabre opened Fabre Studio on Ontario just west of Orleans in February to offer full film and podcasting productions to nonprofits, small business owners and other types of creatives who might otherwise have trouble accessing professional-grade studios.

He opened the studio a few months ago.

“They took over $100,000 of equipment. Basically everything that I need and use to serve the community,” Fabre said in a video posted to social media about the break-in.

Fabre has launched a GoFundMe to raise $20,000, the amount needed for him to re-open the doors and start welcoming productions again.

“This is a hard ask, a very hard ask,” Fabre said.

To make a donation, the GoFundMe can be found here.
