High Bridge Dog Park temporary closing next week, residents already eagerly awaiting improvements | News [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. – Starting Monday, you and your four-legged friend will have one less dog park to go to in Spokane.

Construction on the High Bridge Dog Park is set to begin Monday and run through early October. The park will be closed until construction is complete.

Dee Casillas and his dog Danah Scully spent Thursday afternoon at the dog park. He said the park is huge and has the most dogs out of all the parks in the city.

“I think since I’ve been in Spokane, I’ve noticed this is the quintessential dog park of the area,” Casillas said.

Starting next week, the 10-acre park is getting a makeover.

“Since 2022, Spokane Parks and Spokane Public Schools have had an incredible partnership working together to try and improve dog park service citywide,” said Spokane’s park planning and development manager Nicholas Hamad.
