Development in Greenvilles West End gets greenlight from Planning Commission [Video]

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – The City of Greenville’s West End, a historically black neighborhood, has seen changes over the years.

“It just feels a whole lot different with traffic and all of this stuff,” said Upstate resident, Tyler Woodall.

More change could be coming, with a number of homes under construction and other development plans in the works.

“We’ve not been given an option. Every time we look, there’s a new house and they get taller and taller,” said longtime Greenville resident, Sharon Norman.

This week, a nearly seven-acre subdivision received initial approval from the City’s Planning Commission, along with the naming of two new roads.

If the development receives final approval, a proposed residential and commercial space called the Mosaic Townes Development, could be constructed.
