WETUMPKA, Ala. (WSFA) – Wetumpka is celebrating the official opening of its brand new Publix Wednesday, a major sign of growth and development for the city.
The grocery store anchors The Shoppes at Fort Toulouse, a new shopping center on Highway 231.
More than 100 residents gathered in the parking lot of the new store for the ribbon cutting around 6:30 a.m.
The 48,000 square foot grocery store complex also includes an adjacent 7,000 square foot stretch of buildings for other businesses.
