Colorado Eagles hockey team plans to build new arena in Greeley [Video]

GREELEY, Colo. — The Colorado Eagles announced plans on Wednesday to leave their home in Loveland and build a new arena in Greeley.

The Eagles, the AHL minor league affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced plans for a new development that would include an ice arena in west Greeley.

“The city of Greeley and Windsor’s Water Valley Company took their first public step toward growing a 5,000-acre development in west Greeley — an area developer and Colorado Eagles owner Martin Lind calls the heart of Northern Colorado,” the Eagles said in a statement Wednesday. “The proposed development would include an ice arena for the Colorado Eagles hockey team.”
