Funding challenge for Big Brothers Big Sisters [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Big Brothers Big Sisters has been a part of our community for decades, helping thousands of young people through mentoring programs but, the non-profit organization is facing a serious challenge now after an unexpected funding cut.

Jamie Johnson and Audrey Barlumi have been a little and big team for the last two years.

“I look at her as another mother figure for me because my mom died when I was seven so, I didn’t have a mother figure in my life,” Johnson said.

“I am not able to have children, so I wanted to do something to give back to the community and work with kids. When I found out about this program, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of,” Barlumi said.
