Louisville MetroSafe workers honored with BBQ breakfast | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — First responders risk their lives every day to protect those in the community and Saturday was a time to say thank you.

Hogfathers BBQ cooked breakfast for the men and women at MetroSafe.

Competition BBQ grillers and smokers were brought in as a surprise to the city employees.

Louisville MetroSafe dispatchers often work extremely long hours in very stressful situations.

“That is where it is all beginning,” radio show host Dwight Witten said. “When people are in the darkest time of their lives these are the men and women that answer that call and they have to take those calls home with them – it is a rough job, a thankless job and we are here to thank them.”

MetroSafe workers dug into ribs, chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, jalapeno potato salad and coleslaw.
