New neighborhood looks to reimagine Edgehill [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The future of the Edgehill neighborhood is currently being decided with a new community plan outlining how the area develops.

The 20 year proposal includes a number of major changes while creating a new vision for growth in the area.

Residents got their first look at the plan during a community meeting on Wednesday afternoon. It includes new zoning for housing, businesses and mixed-use space.

The Metro Planning Department started this study last year after project manager Katie Kemezis said the neighborhood had exploded and needed more guidance on how to use every inch of land.

“This plan thinks about how we help manage that growth, so it focuses and channels growth around the 12th and 8th Ave. corridors and in the center,” Kemezis said. “It’s creating an equitable neighborhood where there is smart, inclusive growth happening.”
