MT. VERNON, Ind. (WEVV) — Last week’s tornadoes pulled a stable life out from under many families when they lost their homes. The Mt. Vernon EF-3 tornado destroyed one out of every three mobile homes in a neighborhood off of Seibert Lane, displacing multiple families, but hopefully only for a few more weeks.
The neighborhood’s property manager, Randall Simon, told 44News “I say within a week, maybe a week-and-a-half, two weeks tops, we’ll have people back into a new home on their same lot.”
The tornado’s 140mph winds wreaked havoc on the residents of Seibert Lane just over a week ago, destroying eight mobile homes and sending four families to live with family members, other tenants, and in storm shelters.
