Marion County, Ark., cleaning up after extreme flooding [Video]

YELLVILLE, Ark. (KY3) – Portions of northern Arkansas were hit with extreme flooding early Wednesday morning.

In Yellville, Shawnee Creek’s Branch that flows through town rose out of its banks and flooded the downtown area.

“National Weather Service has recorded seven to ten inches of rain across the county,” Marion County OEM Director Melissa Penn explained.

Flooding from the creek ran through homes, businesses, and whatever else was in its way.

“Got down here and said, ‘Holy cow. We have got a problem here,” said Terry Fisk, whose business was flooded.

Fisk lives outside of town but owns a gas station in downtown Yellville. He said he could tell his farm had received a decent rain and thought he’d better check on the station. When he arrived, he found a mess.
