LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – It’s never too late to get started on the right foot when gardening and landscaping. And it’s always best to have some go-to tools on-hand.
Jeff Wallitsch of Wallitsch Gardens said these are the tools you’ll need:
- A good pair of pruners is number one. It can be used for small trees, shrubs, and plants.
- It needs to have a sharp blade to make clean cuts. That way the plant can heal better. A dull blade will make jagged cuts, which can lead to disease and insects getting inside the plant.
- Same rules go for loppers, which are used for larger trees and shrubs.
- When buying pruning tools, look at the measurements on it. It will tell you the thickness it can cut.
