Heat on the Rise This Weekend [Video]

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Another pleasantly seasonable start across central MS this morning with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Highs will be slightly warmer this afternoon, in the low to mid-90s.

Starting tomorrow, moisture will be on the rise. It will still be a pleasant start with temps in the low 70s, but it could feel like triple digits for some by the afternoon. Into the weekend, mugginess continues to increase. Heat alerts, such as heat advisories, are expected by Sunday. Highs will reach the mid and upper 90s for our weekend days.

Better chances of rain are also forecast by the weekend, with decent coverage Sunday afternoon and heading into Monday. We will likely see a break from rain (but not heat) for the middle of next week before we see another increase in coverage to end the week.
