Red Sox lineup: Ace will try to rebound after two shaky starts [Video]

BOSTON — Red Sox ace Tanner Houck will take the mound as he tries to bounce back after two shaky outings.

It’s the rubber game between Boston and Oakland. First pitch from Fenway Park is at 7:10 p.m.

Houck, who was selected to the All-Star team, has a 2.68 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 18 starts. He has averaged 1.9 walks per nine innings and the league’s fewest home runs per nine innings (0.4).

The Red Sox righty struggled in his last outing at New York. He retired the first six batters. But he lacked command when he came out for the third after a rain delay. He went just 3 ⅓ innings and allowed three runs (one earned runs), two hits and four walks.

He also gave up eight runs (seven earned runs) in only 4 ⅓ innings in his previous start June 29. vs. the Padres.
