REPORTS: Birmingham Southern rejects Alabama A&M’s offer to buy campus [Video]

Alabama A&M Unversity’s offer to purchase the campus of Birmingham Southern College has reportedly been rejected.According to NBC affiliate WAFF, AAMU’s Vice President of Government Affairs & External Relations Shannon Reeves says the plan now is to shift resources to better their main campus.“Our BSC offer was not accepted,” Reeves told WAFF. “With no deal in Birmingham, we will shift our resources to be invested on our main campus in Huntsville as we achieved record enrollment in the 2023-24 academic year.”BSC announced earlier this year that its doors were closing after being unable to secure funding to continue operating.Back in May, AAMU offered to purchase BSC for $52 million, consisting of $22 million in cash as well as an additional $30 million investment in “construction and maintenance upgrades needed to reopen doors and operate the full campus.”Then, late last month, AAMU shared a statement written by Vice President of Government …
