The heat isn’t leaving central Pennsylvania anytime soon, although rain and storms from mid-week on could keep those brown patches in your lawn from getting any bigger than they are.

Another heat advisory has been issued across parts of central Pa., effective from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

Heat index values from 100 to 104 are expected.

More heat advisories could follow on Tuesday and Wednesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Its heat advisory for eastern Pa. and parts of New Jersey runs into Tuesday evening and could be extended through Wednesday, the NWS said.

In addition, an air quality alert has been issued through Monday for Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, York and Lancaster counties.

There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday, and the chances of those will increase Tuesday and Wednesday, with what will then be tropical system Beryl moving to the northeast across the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes.

Additional showers and thunderstorms are also predicted Thursday through Saturday.
