Disaster loans available for April storm damage [Video]

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Severe storms in early April left homes and businesses dealing with the impact of wide-spread damage.

Tornados swept through neighborhoods across our region, houses were destroyed by falling trees, and billboards came crashing down.

For those impacted, there are options for help such as grants from the Small Business Administration.

“Anybody whether you have a business or a home if you’re a renter or a non-profit organization and you sustained damage between April 2nd and April 6th can apply for a low interest loan from the SBA to help cover the damages that aren’t covered by other recovery such as maybe a FEMA grant or insurance proceeds” said Carl Dombek, Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience.

These loans come with benefits including interest rates below 3% and a one year of free grace period
