Chiefs Hallmark Christmas movie will be shot in Independence [Video]

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – It’s Christmas in July on Independence Square this year.

The city announced the square will serve as a primary backdrop for the Christmas movie produced by Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs.

“For the last week our lighting company, Holiday FX, has been very busy lighting up some of our building tops, facades, trees and poles with lights. We’re not crazy, we didn’t lose our calendar,” Jeff Rogers, Independence Square Association, said.

People visiting the square after dark will likely see Christmas lights outlining some of the buildings. Rogers said they don’t plan to light the entire square for the movie shoot. Only buildings that may be in a shot when crews film at night will be outlined in lights.
