State property tax assessments due soon [Video]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – State property assessment returns are due in the next few months. Local assessor’s offices are sending notices reminding people to get their property assessed.

The due date for businesses is September 1st and October 1st for individuals.

While these forms can be filled out online, in Harrison County several in-person satellite camps will be set up between July 15th throughout August. Some locations include Stonewood, The Meadowbrook Mall, Rosebud Plaza, and Benedum Plaza.

Harrison County Assessor Joseph ‘Rocky’ Romano says these locations can help people fill out their assessment forms.

“We’ll also have a canopy in the plaza in front of the courthouse, where you can take care of your assessments there as well, most people they see the tent and it reminds them, ‘Oh I’ve got to do my assessment,’” said Romano.
