Two young girls from Enfield are officially published authors | Local News [Video]

ENFIELD — Two young girls in Enfield are already starting what may be their future careers, having written and published books, and they aren’t even teenagers yet.

Anna Mercier wrote her book at the age of 10, and Addy Dow penned hers at only seven. Both were Enfield Station School students at the time, though Mercier will go on to middle school in the fall.

The books were part of an initiative that got around 200 kids in the school to write their very own stories.

“I discovered the program with some colleagues at a conference last year, and kind of did the work with the administration and the share your story team to bring it here,” said Desiree Lindsay, a literacy coach at Enfield Station School. “It’s fantastic, it’s been very exciting. I’m very proud of them,” she added.
