Hot start to the week with a cool down starting Wednesday [Video]

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Looks like 90-degree temperatures to start the week. We will see a cool down on Tuesday and by Thursday we will see 80-degree temperatures.

20% shower chances south of Highway 50 Tuesday.

Fire danger in the afternoon throughout the week.

Education Director for REMSA Health Jennifer Walters says to:

• Limit time out in the sun between 10 am and 2 pm
• Wear sunscreen that is SPF 15+
• Drink water, and liquids with electrolytes (salt) and sugar to help retain liquids
• Always have a designated adult to watch children nearby or in water in case the kids need help
