Polaris Career Center enables Camp Discovery kids to find their passion [Video]

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – With a variety of engaging sessions from which to choose, kids on summer break converged at Polaris Career Center for Camp Discovery.

Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students from a host of local schools participated in two sessions daily from June 10 through June 13.

Programs included forensic science, hydraulic engineering, Cricut Crafty Creations, Culinary Creations, digital illustration, Game of Drones, computers/technology, jewelry design, Junior Police Academy, junior veterinarian, construction/architecture, salon techniques, Robo-Rally Racing, automotive maintenance, video production/film making, video game design and Young Entrepreneurs.

Game of Drones instructor Don Filips watched students intently steer their drones as quickly as possible through an obstacle course.

“They learned about drones as an emerging technology and as a career option for them,” Filips explained. “They learned about the physics behind the drones, as well as coding and how to control them.”
