96 High School Marching Band makes history winning 12th state championship [Video]

NINETY SIX, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Ninety Six High School Marching Band made history after winning their 12th state championship, and third in a row, this fall.

“It’s not just seen as a sport, or just an activity. It’s a lifestyle. It’s something you devote to,” Lauren Ables, drum major, said.

“It takes a lot to get the medal, it doesn’t just come to you. You have to earn it,” Chris Taylor, senior, added.

The members of the 96 High School Marching Band told FOX Carolina what it takes to make a winning team.

Dedication, hard work, time management and discipline were among some of their answers.

But the most important ingredient to their success is the family-like environment, according to students.

More than 50 students from 7th to 12th grades make up this award-winning family.
